A Concordance to Six Middle English Tail-Rhyme Romances
The six Middle English poems covered by this two-volume computerized concordance form a homogeneous group of non-cyclical tail-rhyme romances : Sir Eglamour of Artois, Le Bone Florence of Rome, Sir Isumbras, Octavian, The King of Tars, and Sir Tryamowr. In preparing the concordance, the relevant editions have been checked against the manuscripts and the texts re-edited according to a unified set of principles. In this KWIC (Key Word in Context) concordance the lexical material is given in full and homonyms have been distinguished. It can serve both literary (E.g. formulaic) and linguistic (e.g. syntactic) studies.

Hymne aux murènes
"Murène est appelée car elle fait maints cercles. De quoi les pêcheurs disent qu'elles ne peuvent être que femelles, et qu'elle conçoit du serpent" (Littré). La murène serait-elle un monstre ? Mais n'est-on pas toujours la murène de quelqu'un ? Mila a dix-sept ans, un nom imprononçable "c'est le nom de ma mère", des "paters" qui se succèdent, lui laissant par-ci par-là un demi-frère en souvenir. Elle a aussi des "ailes" suspectes, qui lui ont valu d'être expédiée dans une maison de santé dont elle devrait ressortir "conforme". En attendant que les ailes tombent, qu'est-ce qu'on peut faire, à dix-sept ans, si ce n'est se découvrir amoureuse ? Mais, là encore, la "conformité" ne semble pas inscrite dans la nature de Mila : l'objet de son amour, Paule, une monitrice, n'a pas plus de piédestal que les refrains de Josette, l'amie, la complice, n'ont la couleur de l'eau de rose. Roman en six volets, annoncés par d'ironiques têtes de chapitres, reconstituant les étapes d'un parcours vieux comme le monde et pourtant toujours neuf : le rendez-vous qu'on ne peut manquer, qu'on manque toujours au moins un peu, avec l'amour, avec soi-même, avec la vie. Mais la réalité est aussi ailleurs, débusquée au-delà des apparences par le regard sans concession de l'héroïne, dans le raccord instantané du passé à l'avenir, du sérieux à la provocation, du drame au canular... Alchimie tragi-cocasse propre aux adolescentes qui se savent au confluent de l'enfance et de la "vraie vie".

Parcours. Parcours de vie et santé des Africains immigrés en France
Pourquoi et comment l'infection VIH percute-t-elle la vie des immigrés d'Afrique subsaharienne en France ? Première étude quantitative d'ampleur menée par des chercheurs et des associations au sein de cette population particulièrement touchée par le virus, l'enquête ANRS Parcours a retracé en 2012-2013 les trajectoires migratoires, sociales, administratives et de santé de ces immigrés. Elle met en relief les difficultés d'installation, les bouleversements familiaux et professionnels à l'arrivée en France, et leurs conséquences en termes de santé. Plus qu'une recherche en santé publique, Parcours est une étude sur l'immigration en provenance de cette région du monde, une immigration marquée par des années de fragilité administrative et d'insécurité au quotidien. Elle met au jour les facteurs structurels qui pèsent, souvent de façon durable, sur l'installation des immigrés en France et accroissent leurs risques d'être infectés par le VIH une fois sur place. Elle montre aussi l'importance des dispositifs qui mettent en oeuvre le principe d'universalité de l'accès aux soins (AME, PASS, associations humanitaires) et la nécessité de les garantir. Car la lutte contre le sida, véritable maladie de la précarité, passe par la réduction des inégalités de santé. Cette recherche a été conduite sous la responsabilité scientifique d'Annabel Desgrées du Loû (IRD), France Lert, Rosemary Dray-Spira et Nathalie Bajos (Inserm) et Nathalie Lydié (Santé publique France). Elle a été financée par l'Agence nationale de la recherche sur le sida et les hépatites virales (ANRS), avec le soutien de la Direction générale de la santé et de l'agence Santé publique France.

Ma cinéthérapie. Les épreuves 1987-1997, avec 1 DVD
Né en 1948, Philippe Vallois est un cinéaste singulier. Sa vie est un roman vitaliste et son oeuvre un labyrinthe. Après des films sortis en salle, dont certains sont devenus des icônes de l'underground homo comme Johan (1976) et Nous étions un seul homme (1979), après des créations pour la télévision comme le portrait-nébuleuse de l'artiste Huguette Spengler (I 984),Vallois n'a jamais cessé de croire en sa bonne étoile de cinémagicien. L'évolution des techniques du cinéma lui a permis, en solitaire quasiment, de faire avec une caméra ce qu'un écrivain fait avec sa plume. Se sont succédé, en DVD et en festival, des films comme Un parfum nommé Sald (2003), Sexus Dei (2006), L'Adieu à Moustafa (2018), Les Guerres de Christine S. (2023) et des rétrospectives en France et à l'étranger. Un Prix Philippe Vallois a été créé et décerné au Festival queer Ecrans Mixtes de Lyon, en mars 2023, récompensant un film de la programmation pour son audace et sa liberté. Dans La Passion selon Vallois, paru chez EO en 2013, Ivan Mitifiot évoquait sa "caméra soleil". Dans ce tome II consacré aux souvenirs de sa "décennie morbide" du sida (1987-1997), la caméra devient "cinéthérapie". Le livre est ici accompagné du DVD du film Dissidence, créé durant le confinement à partir de scènes tournées dans les années 90 et d'interviews avec le professeur Jean-Marie Andrieu, franc-tireur de la recherche contre le sida. Livre et film se font ainsi écho : dissidences sexuelle, médicale et artistique et kaléidoscope en mémoire de Jean, compagnon corps à coeur et âme frère.

What do Christopher Columbus, Reneke, Zénobe Gramme and Louis Pasteur have in common ? They were all inventors. Well fine, but who invented the crab's claw, the suction cups and the flight of squids or the proboscis of blood sucking insects ? Is invention intellectual fantasy, an industrial tool or a fundamental biological reaction ? How is this riddle to be solved ? Should we go through the list of inventions or inventors ? Is it a question of circumstances or motivations ? Who is in charge ? The Material or the Spirit ? In order to try to find a way of answering these questions, first a few very different inventors and their inventions will be presented. A few paradoxes emerge from this first part. Then we will devote an entire chapter to an exceptional inventor whose extraordinary work revolutionized how we now approach this topic. Finally, what can be said about all the inventions like the wings of birds or butterflies, the eyes of fish or insects, the leaves of trees or the social organization of beehives ? National Heroes and National Identities. Scotland, Norway and Lithuania
This book investigates the concept of the heroic, questions what it is that makes the national hero an indispensable appendage to any possible interpretation of national identity, and asks why scholars stop short before coming to terms with this elusive phenomenon. It finds answers by following heroic traditions in Scotland, Norway and Lithuania from the early modern period to the twentieth century. The book argues that heroic traditions – prevailing trends in situating heroes in national history – owe much to the early modern state. Both national heroes and the nation state had been conceived with a similar moral political mindset that looked for new ways to identify sources for commonality. The confluence of political theory and Realpolitik attested to three classical types of polities, i.e. civitas popularis (democracy), regnum (kingship), and optimatium (aristocracy), as found at that time in Scotland, Norway and Lithuania respectively. The author shows the varied impact these patterns had on heroic traditions. The long record of national heroes in Scotland is explained as a vestige of the legacy of civic humanism, the continuing traditions of the heroic king-lines in Norway are seen as a result of long-standing absolutism, while the belated arrival of national heroes in Lithuania is excused by the country's aristocratic if at times oligarchic past.

Epilepsy: the invisible pain
They say life is a long stretch of a calm river, but not for everyone ! She was for me until the day when everything rocked, the day my destiny was changed dramatically. People do not realize how life can be so sweet and so beautiful. They complain all day long for trivialities. They are not even aware that they have before their eyes the most beautiful wealth : the luck and happiness of living in good health. I was rich before. Now I am poor because my child has an incurable disease, that has currently no hope of being healed. As a parent, how can we accept that ? , How to continue living carrying the bundle of pain in my head ? , How to overcome this feeling of helplessness ? When I started speaking to my heart, I didn't know myself that this was the beginning of a new life : a rebirth as a poet. When I learnt that my 7-year-old daughter was suffering from the Dravet Syndrome, a rare genetic epileptic encephalopathy, this was like an earthquake in my life. Then, I needed to write in order to express my sorrow and my pain. Words and rhymes came naturally to my mind. This was obvious that poetry would be my survival weapon.

Paris impressionniste. 100 tableaux de légende, Edition bilingue français-anglais
Monet peint les fumées de la gare Saint-Lazare, Renoir saisit les reflets du Pont-Neuf dans la Seine, Pissarro figure l'avenue de l'Opéra depuis une chambre d'hôtel, Manet immortalise les serveuses de café de Pigalle, Caillebotte restitue les perspectives haussmanniennes... Tout autant que la côte normande ou la vallée de la Seine, Paris inspire les impressionnistes. Entre son fleuve et ses grands ciels, la capitale ne manque ni de nature ni de texture pour des palettes avides de saisir les jeux de la lumière. En prime, la ville apporte l'animation de ses rues, de ses métiers, de ses cafés, de ses loisirs... Monet painted smoke clouding the Gare Saint-Lazare, Renoir captured the Pont Neuf's reflections in the Seine, Pissarro portrayed Avenue de l'Opéra from his hotel room, Manet immortalized waitresses in a café at Pigalle, Caillebotte depicted Haussmannian perspectives... L'artiste britannique Rebecca Warren est une des figures majeures de l'art contemporain. Sa palette déploie toute une gamme d'influences modernistes et de cultures pop, montrant une attention singulière à la figure, à la chair, à la matière et à la disposition des pièces. Dans ASensitiv, Warren analyse les correspondances révélatrices, voire hallucinatoires entre son oeuvre et l'art et la personnalité de Giacometti. Associant sculptures, peintures et dessins sélectionnés dans la collection de la Fondation Giacometti à ses propres oeuvres (dont certaines sont exposées pour la première fois), cette exposition est l'occasion de mettre son travail en relation avec l'un des maîtres de l'art moderne. British artist Rebecca Warren is one of contemporary art's leading protagonists. Her broad creative palette incorporates an array of modernist and pop culture influences, showing an unusual attention to the figure, flesh, matter and the arrangement of parts. In ASensitiv, Warren analyses the revealing and possibly hallucinatory connections when her work meets the art and personality of Alberto Giacometti. Combining sculptures, paintings and drawings selected from the Giacometti Foundation alongside her own (some shown here for the first time), this exhibition presents an opportunity to consider her work in relation to one of the masters of modern art.

Un week-end à Granville pour les cent ans de la goélette Marité
Le 24 juin 1923, le trois-mâts goélette Marité est béni par l'abbé Lecadre au port de Fécamp. Les 24 et 25 juin 2023, le dernier terre-neuvier français fête son centenaire dans le port de Granville. Au départ, Marité est un dundee harenguier, une refonte du navire est nécessaire pour le tranformer en terre-neuvier, en trois-mâts conçu afin d'embarquer 24 hommes et une douzaine de doris. Marité a pratiqué la pêche à la morue sur les bans de Terre-Neuve de 1924 à 1929 au cours de cinq campagnes, ramenant pour chacune d'elles entre 100 et 160 tonnes de morues. On 24 june 1923, the three-masted schooner Marité was blessed by abbé Lecadre in the port of Fécamp. On 24 and 25 June 2023, the last French Newfoundlander will celebrate her centenary in the port of Granville. Initially, Marité was a herring dundee, but the ship had to be refitted to transform her into a three-masted terre-neuvier designed to carry 24 men and a dozen dories. Marité fished for cod on the banks of Newfounland from 1924 to 1929 during five campaigns, bringing in between 100 to 160 tonnes of cod each.
