Inclusion is coming : Vulnérables et tourmentés dans Game of Thrones
Sur le territoire des sept royaumes de Westeros, une lutte à mort pour occuper le Trône de fer anime des familles ennemies. Par la force ou par la ruse, par l'épée ou par la magie, par l'alliance ou par la trahison, les belligérants mobilisent toutes leurs forces et leurs ressources pour conquérir le trône du pouvoir central dans la capitale de King's Landing. Héritier légitime ou comploteur narcissique, épouse en deuil ou princesse conquérante, noble chevalier ou rusé opportuniste, tous et toutes sont prêts à s'entre-dévorer pour occuper l'emblème de la puissance : le trône aux mille épées, forgé au feu d'un dragon légendaire. Dans l'ombre cependant, d'autres vies sont animées par des mobiles plus prosaïques : la lutte ou la fuite pour la survie. Humain et fragile, malade ou simple d'esprit, paralysé ou aveugle, nain ou bien défiguré, ces personnages, féminins ou masculins, enfants ou adultes, sont précipités dans le chaos des royaumes combattants. Exposés à des situations de vulnérabilité extrême ainsi qu'à des tourments parfois inouïs, leur priorité est d'abord celle de la survie, avant de récupérer des pouvoirs d'agir et de rebondir après les épreuves. En chemin, ces trajectoires proprement humaines se combinent à d'autres forces vitales, animales et végétales, pour affronter une menace terrifiante qui se lève dans le Nord des royaumes en guerre. Le vivant multiple et bigarré parviendra-t-il à dépasser les querelles liées au pouvoir éphémère pour s'unir devant l'effroyable danger qui s'avance vers lui ? Les égoïsmes fléchiront-ils devant le péril venu du Nord ? Peu à peu, les vulnérables et les tourmentés sont amenés à occuper une place déterminante pour l'alliance inclusive des forces de vie. Une affaire qui ne va pas de soi, ni dans le monde de Game of Thrones, ni dans le monde contemporain...

The 'success' of a conversion depends on the group into which the convert is introduced. This study in early Christian ecclesiology from the perspective of house and family is guided by this sociological theory. Converts often met with problems in relation to their family. They joined a fellowship which conceived of itself as a family of brothers and sisters. It is the aim of this investigation to present the potential of the Christian fellowship to take the role of a new family in relation to its converts. This is done by means of historical material and cross-cultural comparisons. The relevance of the material for present-day churches and mission is considered.

A sequel to Rock Springs and Women with Men, the collection of short stories entitled A Multitude of Sins was published in 2001 and immediately achieved worldwide recognition. If this series of ten short stories seems to feature adultery, it would be a major mistake to believe that the stories can be reduced to what is actually a side issue or a pretext to something else, sometimes of much greater importance. As often with great writers, Richard Ford tackles several other topics along with the sin of unfaithfulness which is a base camp from which to go further up into the knowledge of human deficiency, lack and want. Pondering these sins, Richard Ford lays them all bare while often unveiling the issue of the story right from the beginning, instead of cautiously preserving it as a last chance literary trick to pull it off at the fast moment. Showing insight through observation, his writing is deceptive in as much as it seems natural and easygoing when it requires close analysis and several successive readings to yield up its literary and humane secrets. The comparison some critics have made to Chekhov is not overblown and Agregation students, certainly among the most perceptive readers in the world, should naturally enjoy both reading and studying A Multitude of Sins, pleasure and scholarship being complementary, not antagonistic. Fast Darkness III is the last part of the trilogy Fast Darkness, 2020-2022. Written in 2022, it is a 16 minutes long virtuosic, wild, and overgrown exploration. Fast gestures, drawn by a sharp pen and loaded with excited energy inform the listener of a large universe that they are enveloping. Just like an entangled climbing branch may give a sense of the house it is climbing on, the energy-laden gestures in Fast Darkness III, reveal the presence of the universe they are enveloping. Luigi Pericle : A Rediscovery
This important book presents the work of the fascinating and singular artist Luigi Pericle (1916-2001). Pericle was a painter, illustrator and scholar, as well as a leading figure in the story of art in the second half of the twentieth century. The artist initially found fame as an illustrator, gaining widespread renown in the 1950s as the inventor of the character Max the Marmot. But his intense, enigmatic and multi-layered paintings increasingly drew the attention of the art world, with works that reflect his personal, metaphysical take on post-war abstraction exhibited at numerous venues in Britain during the 1960s. Pericle then abruptly retreated from the art system, and for the rest of his life continued to paint, write and to study esoteric philosophy in the secluded house he shared with his wife Orsolina on Monte Verit in the Ticino region of Switzerland. The artist's work was dramatically rediscovered in 2016 when the contents of his former residence were revealed. The process of restoring, cataloguing and researching his vast oeuvre is ongoing, and is overseen by Ascona's Archivio Luigi Pericle, with which the exhibition has been organised. This beautifully illustrated publication, which accompanies an exhibition at the Estorick Collection, London, includes a full catalogue of the works, as well as essays by noted scholars.

Tous les conviés connaissent Walter - enfin, ils le connaissent un peu, en tout cas. Certains l'ont rencontré dans leur enfance, d'autres l'ont rencontré quelques mois auparavant. Et Walter a toujours été un peu... absent. Mais après une année difficile, personne n'allait refuser l'invitation de ce dernier dans une maison de campagne située à l'orée d'un bois et avec vue sur lac. In fact, after being burned by the church, one of her relatives kept her belongings inside a wooden box... and in the twentieth century one of her grandchildren donated the box to "The Magic Square Museum" in London. Genius bought the hat at a public auction as an art relic to decorate one of his rooms. Could this weird neighbor be the reason of Socrates' psychological trauma ?
