The present study Brecht and France, (as distinct from "Brecht in France") addresses an area in Brecht Studies which has been rather unjustly neglected. The author attempts to assess Brecht's relationship with France, its impact on his creativity and the image of France as reflected in his works. A thorough examination of Brecht's own writings (including minor and lesser-known works), his private library, published as well as unpublished biographical, autobiographical and contemporary records reveals that France was an intellectual treasure-house from which he could derive great benefit in terms of source-materials, socio-political ideas, dramaturgical principles and, above all, artistic inspirations. Particularly those works based on what the author calls the "Matière de France" and dealing with France in crisis are vested with artistic conviction, emotional poignancy and universal message that well merit the pronouncement made by Jean-Paul Sartre that "Brecht est nôtre".

Cet ouvrage collectif rassemble quatorze contributions scientifiques consacrées à _La traduction et l'interprétation en Afrique subsaharienne_. Le sous-titre _Les nouveaux défis d'un espace multilingue_ se situe au coeur des préoccupations des auteurs, qui allient souvent une expérience professionnelle indéniable à leur statut universitaire. Rédigées en français et en anglais, leurs analyses couvrent au moins sept pays différents, lorsqu'elles ne décrivent pas des réalités et des défis qui transcendent largement les frontières. Les problématiques abordées sont nombreuses et étroitement imbriquées : enseignement multilingue, formation professionnelle des interprètes et des traducteurs, interprétation communautaire, besoins des administrations et des organisations internationales, création de ressources lexicales, ingénierie linguistique... This collective work contains fourteen scientific contributions related to _Translation and Interpretation in Sub-Saharan Africa_. The subtitle 'The New Challenges in a Multilingual Space' is at the heart of the concerns of the authors, who often blend their undeniable professional experience with their university status. Their analyses, written in French and English, cover at least seven different countries, and sometimes describe realities and challenges that largely transcend borders. Acoustic Variability and its Perception
The starting point for the experimental investigation reported in this work is the observation that linguistic units (words, phonemes) do not have an acoustic invariance in the continuous speech. Moreover the a acoustic perception of a word or a phoneme depends on the context in which it is spoken. The experiments were designed to elucidate the interaction of word and context by examining the ways in which context affects the acoustic shape of a given word, as well as the role of context in word perception. The ultimate aim is to throw light on the mechanisms involved in the perception of continuous speech.

Inevitably, such central issues as "black pride", human dignity, ethics or the nature of freedom are raised and the reader finds himself actively involved in the reconstruction of a black subject whom "history" had relegated in the footnotes of a "Manifest Destiny" written by revisionist ideologues.

The «Individualität» of August von Platen
Platen, in the critical imagination, is a classicistic formalist who hid his anguished life behind imitative art. This cliché - which originates in Heine's early caricature - has not been corrected because of a virtual absence of close analyses of the kind undertaken in this study. There is shown to be unsuspected continuity in experiments with lyric forms as different as Lied, ghasel, sonnet, ode, idyll and "Pindaric" hymn ; Platen appears as a decidedly confessional, even histrionic, writer in the wake of Byron, and his subjectivity proves strong and unrepentant enough to be comparable to Heine's own.

Ce volume est un état de la recherche internationale sur les socialismes africains. Y sont rassemblés des articles traitant de débats théoriques autour de ce thème et de ses sources intellectuelles mais aussi d'expériences très concrètes de socialisme, tant dans les villes que dans les campagnes : coopératives, comités de quartier, camps de rééducation... La situation de l'Afrique lusophone, parent pauvre des études africaines en France, et dont l'ensemble des pays ont justement fait l'expérience de régimes socialistes, a fait l'objet d'une attention particulière. Les rapports de l'Afrique avec l'URSS, les démocraties populaires, Cuba, la Chine, ou encore Israël sont également abordés. Les communications faites dans les colloques ont été repensées, avec pour résultat un fructueux dialogue avec les auteur. e. s et des articles complémentaires. Les auteurs espèrent ainsi donner à l'étude des socialismes africains une légitimité dans le champ plus général de l'histoire des socialismes, de même que dans celui de celle de la guerre froide. This volume is intended to be a state of international research on African socialisms. It brings together articles dealing with theoretical debates about socialism in Africa and its intellectual sources, but also very concrete experiences of socialism, both in cities and in the countryside : cooperatives, neighborhood committees, re-education camps, etc... Particular attention was paid to the situation of Portuguese-speaking Africa, the poor relation of African studies in France, and whose countries as a whole have precisely experienced socialist regimes. Je garde mes souvenirs en vie. Je les nourris. Il faut les nourrir sinon ils me rongent. Mes souvenirs remontent à très loin. Je les porte pour bien des gens. Les gens du temps jadis. Je porte leurs souvenirs et je porte les miens. Après la mort d'un ouvrier à Pittsburgh en 1904, un jeune Africain-Américain appelé Citoyen Barlow se présente à la porte de la maison de Tante Ester, un lieu de paix et de fraternité. Il demande à cette ancienne esclave de deux cent quatre-vingt-cinq ans de "laver son âme". Dans une ville en proie aux manifestations ouvrières au début du XXe siècle, le jeune Citoyen devra traverser "la grande eau" et retrouver la "Cité des Os" afin de se réconcilier avec son histoire, celle de sa courte vie et celle de son "peuple".

En rentrant en Bretagne pour me présenter à sa famille et faire son coming out, Florent ne savait pas à quoi s'attendre. Une chose est sûre, il ne s'attendait pas à devoir composer avec une invasion de morts-vivants. Ni moi non plus, d'ailleurs... Pendant un an, les choses n'ont pas trop mal tourné pour nous. Jusqu'à ce qu'un néonazi et sa bande de fanatiques investissent le supermarché où nous avions trouvé refuge aux côtés d'un groupe hétéroclite de rescapés de l'apocalypse et décident de massacrer tout le monde. Tout le monde... ou presque. Nous laisser pour morts était une erreur : moi et mon mec, on est des battants. Et pour étancher notre soif de vengeance, on est bien déterminés à survivre encore une journée. Reste à savoir si notre couple y survivra...
