Cette monographie constitue le dernier volet de publication scientifique du programme "Des espaces et des rites. Pour une archéologie du culte dans les sanctuaires du monde méditerranéen" , commun aux Ecoles françaises d'Athènes et de Rome (2012-2016), et rassemble dix essais. Face à la richesse sémantique des genres littéraires et des processus de narration, l'archéologie offre une grande variété d'informations matérielles qui font sens et qui regardent au moins trois domaines, l'architecture et l'organisation des espaces, les objets et les programmes iconographiques ainsi que les pratiques, rituelles ou non, déployées dans les complexes sacrés. C'est la place du religieux dans la vie des cités qui est en jeu ici : on côtoyait les dieux partout, "dans des espaces vécus comme peu humanisés" , dans les murs et hors les murs, dans les espaces urbains, dans la sphère privée, mais aussi et surtout dans la nature, "into the wild" . Toute la perception du divin est analysée ici, dans toutes ses formes, par des chercheurs spécialistes des sanctuaires antiques. This monograph is the last part of the scientific publication of the programme entitled "Spaces and Rites. The Archaeology of Worship in the Sanctuaries of the Mediterranean World", common to the French Schools at Athens and Rome (2012-2016), and brings together ten essays. Faced with the semantic wealth of literary genres and narrative processes, archaeology provides us with a huge variety of material information that makes absolute sense and covers at least three areas, architecture and the organisation of spaces, iconographical objects and programmes, as well as the practices carried out in sacred spaces, be they ritualistic or not. The main issue here is the place of religion in the everyday life of the cities : the Gods were everywhere, "in spaces with little human presence", inside and outside the walls, in urban spaces, in the private sphere but also, and above all in the wild. Here, researchers that specialise in ancient sanctuaries analyse the way the divine is perceived, in all of its forms.

Labouring Lives unravels the huge changes which have so fundamentally altered the life courses of ordinary women over the past one hundred and fifty years, namely the changes in marriage and fertility patterns. Using dynamic data from Dutch population registers and analytical techniques from the life course approach, the book offers new evidence on women's changing position in the labour market, their role in pre-nuptial sexuality, and their contribution to marriage and fertility change in the Netherlands between 1880 and 1960. The author reconstructs the socio-economic and demographic worlds of different groups of working and non-working women, and by doing so she is able to locate the various groups driving the changes. Advanced statistical tools enable the author to analyse differences in fertility strategies, stopping versus spacing, employed by various social and cultural groups in the Netherlands. This book leads to conclusions which challenge a number of orthodoxies in the field.

" If regression is the main cause of the alarming situation of Africa and its tails the perceptibles consequences at all levels, the solution to this problem is eminently political. It inevitably involves the constitution of a pan-African State. For men, there is no unity without memory of the past. In fact, the construction of a federal state inevitably involves the restoration of African historical consciousness. There is no national and federal identity without a common language. The unification of Africa will only be possible if it takes the measure of its linguistic unification issue. To a lesser extent but like Cheikh Anta Diop in his book titled the Cultural Unity, I was animated throughout this heuristic by the idea that only the true knowledge of the past can maintain the consciousness and the feeling of a historical continuity essential to the consolidation of a nation for the purpose of building a multinational state in line with its past. Like Cheikh Anta Diop, I build my sureness on the legitimate idea that a people who lost a significant part of their historical memory must engage in the investigation of their past in every possible way. This investigation can take the contours of a reconnection with its past through so-called old languages. But a people can not live only with by merely repeating of what others tell them about themselves. The investigation through its linguistic past allows especially a direct knowledge of oneself. In addition to the fact that this knowledge simply highlights its weaknesses, it allows also to become aware by an introspective and therefore reflective of its real abilities and strengths. It structures being and the consciousness of being to resist any form of servile and degrading ideology. This quest for the past, not founded on blind passion but objectivity, nourishes a healthy ambition for a real universalism. To know one's past is already to project one's future. To know one's past is to give oneself the capacity to be able to bring to others in a perspective of giving and receiving. To know one's past is to refuse intellectual guardianship and wait-and-seeism. To know one's past is to be reborn.

The Reception of Grabbe's Hannibal in the German Theatre
After publication in 1835, Grabbe's Hannibal was overlooked by the theatre until this century. Because the drama does not lend itself easily to stage production, a number of adaptations were printed : these are analysed and their merits and shortcomings evaluated. The history of all productions is then viewed against the background of Germany's political and cultural history from 1918 to 1958, examining in detail the approaches of such producers as Jessner, Martin, Schmitt and Schalla and their audience impact. This analysis in turn sheds light on essential qualities of Hannibal.

Arts du Nigéria Central revisités. Mumuye et peuples environnants
In previous studies, Jan Strybol pointed out that sculpture in Northern Nigeria - contrary to what is generally assumed - flourished. Wood sculptures could be found just about everywhere, with the exception of a part of the Far North. In this study, the author first examines the sculptural traditions of a number of peoples in Central Nigeria, in particular from the Jos Plateau and from the valley of the Middle Benue to the source area of the Taraba River. These peoples can be described as non-centralized communities where mainly art in perishable materials was produced by part-time specialists, in contrast to the centralized empires in the South (Ife, Benin) where full-time specialists created complex works of art in durable materials (stone, bronze, iron). Perhaps the most well-known ethnic group in the Middle Benue region among aficionados of African art are the Mumuye. Since the end of the last century, the traditional rites of the Mumuye have rapidly disappeared as a result of the advance of the world religions and with them the Mumuye sculpture so much admired in Europe and America. In addition to wood sculpture, Jan Strybol also pays attention to objects in bronze, iron, terracotta and other materials. Until now, these art forms have been very underexposed and have now almost completely disappeared. Finally, the author also elaborates on some artistic achievements of a number of little-known residual groups within the Mumuye territory, which can boast a rich art tradition.

Adieu, la compagnie - Livre 1.5. 1
Avertissement Ce récit contient des spoilers sur le dénouement du livre 1, intitulé Jusqu'à la fin du monde. Il est donc recommandé de lire ce roman avant de vous lancer dans Adieu, la compagnie. A moins que vous aimiez commencer un livre par la dernière page. Dans ce cas, faites-vous plaisir ! Après avoir vu disparaitre au loin la camionnette et sa nouvelle famille, Peter était sûr qu'il ne les reverrait jamais plus. Mais parfois la chance est au rendez-vous. Et maintenant, il est prêt à aller retrouver son clan. Sauf que parfois, aussi, la chance n'est pas au rendez-vous. Et parfois, la seule issue, c'est de croire dur comme fer que tout ira bien, même dans les situations les plus inextricables. "I was consumed by this series for 3 days and could not put them down ! I have to say I really did not like Peter in the beginning of Until the End of the World but he definitely grew on me. . kind of like mold. When he stayed behind to save his friends, he redeemed himself in my eyes and I even cried for him. Of course, I was stunned and elated when he showed back up at the end of the book. So Long, Lollipops is a great novella about everything Peter went through during his time away from his misfit family. I love Sarah's ability to weave a story and make you feel like you are smack dab in the middle of the action. This book was definitely a nice addition the the series and I highly recommend it ! C'est en 1979 que le premier fait ses débuts dans le magazine Gekkan Shonen Champion avec Yoroshiku Junjô Taishô. Mais c'est avec Akagi et Tobaku Mokushiroku Kaiji, ses titres phares, que son nom traverse les frontières. A travers ses oeuvres, il aime exposer des gens ordinaires face à des drames et des situations difficiles pour mieux faire ressortir ce qui peut se cacher en chacun de nous. La carrière de Kaiji Kawaguchi est lancée en 1968 avec Yo ga aketara. Ses oeuvres les plus connues sont Actor, Spirit of the Sun, Eagle et Jipang. Des récits souvent historiques où le Japon est traité sous bien des angles différents. Les deux auteurs ont d'ailleurs eu l'occasion de travailler ensemble sur un autre projet intitulé Kokuhaku - Confession. Avec Seizon Life, ils nous livrent une histoire aussi déchirante que poignante au travers de la quête de justice d'un père de famille. Une série qui va souligner le besoin de rédemption de cet homme qui n'a jamais été réellement présent pour ses proches.

L'élégante maison ancienne dans laquelle il emménage rassemble en effet humains, yôkai et divers esprits. C'est dans cette cohabitation atypique mais étrangement chaleureuse qu'une nouvelle vie commence pour Yûshi !
