This book on macrodynamic theories of growth, (in-)stability and cycles shows that the debate between Keynesians, Monetarists and New Classical economists can be reformulated from the perspective of a further and quite different approach to macroeconomic model building. Basis of this reformulation is the growth cycle model of Goodwin which is extended in various ways in the pursuit of this aim. Besides this central theme, the book also introduces into Keynesian, Marxian and Neoclassical models of short-, medium- and long-run macroeconomics in its part I, II. Participation and Litigation Rights of Environmental Associations in Europe
This book assembles the revised papers of an international conference and thus offers a comprehensive comparative overview of the participation and litigation rights of environmental associations in Europe. This is supplemented by a compilation of the relevant statutory law in force. Besides the legal background, the focus of interest is above all on practical experience with participation and litigation rights from the point of view of the environmental associations.The contributions show that the effectivity of group actions is extremely high. In none of the analysed countries were there the slightest indications of any undue strain being placed on the judicial system by this instrument. There can be no doubt that the participation and litigation rights of environmental organizations are important instruments in reducing the enforcement deficit in environmental protection. With a view to the fact that Europe is growing more and more into one entity, the need of participation of environmental NGO's on the European level becomes a pressing necessity.

Hybrid or fully online ? Synchronous or asynchronous ? Unimodal, bimodal, comodal or multimodal ? The all-out development of distance learning has led to the creation of appropriate digital systems, either by using what was already in place (such as video conferencing classrooms and web conferencing software supporting virtual classrooms) or introducing innovative environments (such as immersive telepresence classrooms). To use these versatile, multi-functional technologies, teachers need to take a step back to enable them to adapt their teaching methods and offer learners a suitable environment that overcomes physical and geographical distances. As for students, the need to "be there" and "be together" while learning remotely has to be taken into account to maintain their commitment and ensure they continue to contribute, despite the fact they are apart. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us the importance of the professional, collegial and friendship connections we have with those we usually meet face-to-face in a traditional classroom. Telepresence systems enable all these people to come together remotely (and synchronously) and make it possible to use active teaching methods, driven by the self-regulation of the learners. But what is telepresence ? Do teachers need any special training ? How do you attend lessons remotely ? How do participants learn in a telepresence setting ? What type of student assessment can be used in such an environment ? The result of international collaboration, this short guide looks at these questions from both a research and a practical perspective, inviting you to explore telepresence teaching and learning.

Rethinking East-Central Europe: family systems and co-residence in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth
This book reconstructs fundamental aspects of family organization across historical Poland-Lithuania, one of the largest political entities in early modern Europe. Using a plethora of quantitative measurements and demographic microsimulation, the author captures and elucidates the complex patterns of leaving home and life-cycle service, marriage and household formation, along with domestic group structures and living arrangements among different subpopulations of Poland-Lithuania, highlighting a variety of ways in which these patterns were nested in their respective local and regional contexts. By showing that at the end of the 18th century at least three distinct family systems existed in the Polish-Lithuanian territories, Szo ? tysek challenges a number of orthodoxies in the ‘master narratives' on the European geography of family forms of F. Le Play, J. Hajnal, P. Laslett, and their followers. Volume two of the book contains an extensive bibliography along with a thorough archival documentation of the census-like microdata used in the book, and provides detailed information on their quality and further technicalities pertaining to data analysis.

What The Super Mega Fuck!
Faisant suite au deux précédents ouvrages What The Fuck ! et What The Mega Fuck ! aux éditions le Monte-en-l'air en 2020, ce 3e opus de la collection WTF réunit des photographies en provenance du monde entier, collectées au fil de pérégrinations sur la Toile. Sur les réseaux sociaux et les sites Internet dont sont issues ces photographies, l'acronyme "WTF" précède souvent un contenu pour signifier l'effarement qu'il provoque. Cette interjection exprime autant l'incompréhension que le malaise du "voyeur" face à ces images. Leur accumulation souligne la course folle au partage de contenus "extra-ordinaires" pour un public anesthésié et pose la question de la dilution du sens de la photographie à l'aube du XXI ème siècle. Ces images incongrues sont vues par des millions d'internautes à un instant T, mais disparaissent définitivement au bout de quelques semaines. En éditant ces images dématérialisées et en les réunissant dans des ouvrages imprimés, la maison d'éditions Innocences s'approprie ces clichés et pose un acte de résistance face à la course à l'infini du Web. Innocences, à travers la publication de ces livres à tirage unique et numéroté, propose un véritable travail d'archiviste afin d'y consigner une certaine image de l'homme contemporain.

Glasgow Urban Writing and Postmodernism
Alasdair Gray is one of the most innovative and imaginative writers to have appeared on the Scottish literary scene for many years. Gray radically challenges the vision of Glasgow and Scotland as defined by the traditional Glasgow novel. This study first looks back into the past of Glasgow writing to locate some specific novelistic models which Gray echoes in his fiction. The main part of the study then illustrates that Gray's literary attitude of looking beyond Glasgow (or Scotland) is much more helpful in "imagining Glasgow" than to follow the established and trodden paths of Scottish urban writing. In this sense, Gray proves that the narrative techniques characteristic of postmodernist writing are not only helpful in expressing the often quoted Scottish experience of fragmentation, but also in overcoming the artistic stalemate of the Glasgow novel.

This book deals with the system of exchange marriages in South Punjab, Pakistan. This system does not only regulate mate selection, but it is also an institutional guarantee of reciprocity, welfare and social cohesion. It connects families by means of one marriage, and also creates a double bond between two (or sometimes more) couples. This establishes specific conditions for stability and possible changes in marriage pattern. Valuation and stigmatization as social mechanisms are used to maintain the system of the exchange. It also shows to what degree new forms of cultural values and new patterns of social exchange come into play, create contradictions and undermine the traditional cultural norms. The study focuses on the interplay between structure, culture, and agency (Archer 1996). Affiches, pochettes d'albums, sérigraphies, couvertures de magazines... cet auteur exigeant a déjà mis son talent au service de supports divers et variés pour délivrer son univers underground, onirique, sexy et rock. Des images muettes qui, par leur force d'évocation, sont souvent aussi parlantes que des cases de BD.Ce très bel ouvrage recueille un florilège des illustrations que Mezzo a pu produire dans sa carrière hors bande dessinée. On prend plaisir à y retrouver son trait incisif, précis et sensuel, autour de quelques-uns de ses thèmes favoris : la musique, l'érotisme et le fantastique. Après une longue journée passée à dessiner ses séries en cours, Ju/CDM dessine pour se reposer. Il dessine des requins. C'est son fils de trois ans qui lui a transmis cette passion dévorante. Depuis plusieurs années, dans des carnets de différentes tailles, Julien dessine des requins puis les poste sur Facebook, où ils rencontrent un grand succès. A ce jour, il en a dessiné plus de 200. Ces exercices de styles sont exceptionnels, inventifs, variés, et toujours surprenants, drôles et magnifiquement dessinés. Ce livre, sous la forme d'un carnet de croquis, en regroupe une sélection.

Il est une chose dont peu se souviennent, c'est que l'Allemagne fut une puissance colonisatrice. De 1883 à 1916, elle occupa ce qu'on appelait alors le Sud-Ouest africain, l'actuelle Namibie. Il en est une autre que beaucoup ignorent, c'est que cette colonie fut le théâtre du premier génocide du xxe siècle. Un génocide oublié, occulté même, car le premier rapport officiel - le fameux Blue Book - sur le massacre des Hereros et des Namas fut soustrait à la connaissance du public en 1926. Elise Fontenaille-N'Diaye, alors qu'elle enquêtait sur son aïeul, le général Mangin, a retrouvé ce rapport disparu. Dès lors, elle se devait de raconter. Si ce livre vise à ranimer le souvenir de cette sombre page de l'histoire du colonialisme, il ne se veut pas un ouvrage de spécialiste. L'auteur y donne son point de vue d'écrivain, son point de vue personnel. Quelque part entre le désert du Kalahari et la presqu'île de Shark Island, au large de Lüderitz, s'est déroulée une macabre répétition générale, préfiguration des exterminations à venir.

Après "la vedette" "le canonnier de Vodkagrad" et "la taupe de Botagogo", Malo Louarn nous a concocté un nouvel opus avec le célébrissime Dupaxon. Il est mauvais Dupaxon ! Dans le plus grand secret, les dirigeants de l'Olympic F.C. se mettent tous d'accord pour gagner beaucoup d'argent au prochain match et font appel à un bookmaker. Dupaxon devient le propriétaire d'un bouc. Patpanic fait de gros efforts pour apprendre le français. Tous ces ingrédients vont provoquer un incroyable quiproquo : le book... le bouc... le bookmaker... le bouc m'écoeure... Qui va finalement gagner le match ? Qui va ramasser le pactole ? Dupaxon est-il vraiment si mauvais ? Lisez cette nouvelle aventure footballistique vraiment drôle et vous saurez qui est le fameux joueur "Hémissaire" !

Their arrival was heralded as a new beginning for the human race. Humans were no longer alone in the cosmos. Fearing the worst, the Lambda Initiative was created to police wiki infractions and to protect the fabled Lambda Time Travel Restrictions. Anyone, human or alien, attempting to bypass the Lambda Protocols was subject to prosecution under this new law. To enforce this law, the G-Men were created. Culled from specialists with military and law enforcement experience, the G-Men sought out Lambda Protocol violators with swift and violent response. With wiki crimes on the rise and a growing anti-alien movement gaining strength, something had to be done. The government needed a solution, but they weren't sure what to do. And then they discovered a teenage girl living in Brazil with a special affinity for traversing and moulding the data stream. They had discovered the first Googol. And the world was about to change.

Autodidacts. From Van Gogh to Pirosmani, 1e édition
The symposium will focus on two examples of autodidacts from the nineteenth century, Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) and Niko Pirosmani (1862-1918), as well as on the issues surrounding this notion today. The model of the autodidact appears as a figure that sheds light on our value systems and our patterns of recognition and learning in a world where different conceptions of culture coexist. Over two days, art historians, critics, writers, artists and teachers will gather to discuss autodidacticism through multiple perspectives. The term "autodidact" is generally used to describe someone who has acquired knowledge or skills through their own reading, observations and practice - an approach that is radically different from academic study in the arts, for example, that is validated by institutions. Yet what can we possibly learn if we sacrifice brilliant cultural values on the altar of all- round relativism, where everything is equally valid ? Faced with this relativism, what does one make of the canonical in a globalised and fragmented world ? What to make of an unlearning that cripples the authority of the keepers of knowledge ? These different "cultures of knowledge" presuppose diverse geopolitical realities that are worth interrogating.

Marital Separation in Contemporary Ireland
This book is based on detailed interviews with a group of Irish women who have experienced marital separation. It links the women's accounts with literature on the values and beliefs about marriage, women and family which were prevalent when they were growing up in Ireland in the 1950s and 1960s. The book chronicles their young adult years, the early stages of their marriages and the events and processes which led to their separations. It explores the women's emotional reactions at the time of separating, the types of support which they found beneficial and the personal, social and financial consequences of having separated. Although the book is written from a sociological perspective, the combination of theory and practical insights make it accessible to a wide variety of readers. It aims to generate discussion and deepen understanding of an area into which there has been minimal research in Ireland and which poses a range of important questions for future researchers, practitioners and policy-makers.

Advanced Course in Yogi Philosophy and Oriental Occultism
The twelve lessons forming this volume were originally issued in the shape of monthly lessons, known as "The Advanced Course in Yogi Philosophy and Oriental Occultism" during a period of twelve months beginning with October 1904, and ending September 1905. We have been told, so often, that we must take certain things "on faith, " and that it was "no use bothering our minds concerning them, " but this is only a partial statement of truth, for the Intellect does give us a reliable report concerning the real nature of things. . ". New Thought proponents at the turn of the twentieth century sought to use mysticism to unleash the forces of the universe in themselves. He authored dozens of New Thought books-including The Philosophies and Religions of India, Arcane Formula or Mental Alchemy and Vril, or Vital Magnetism-under numerous pseudonyms, some of which are likely still unknown today.
