Gilles Raynaldy a photographié la "Jungle de Calais" au fil des neuf mois précédant l'évacuation des réfugiés qui y étaient installés, entre février et octobre 2016. Dans le récit en forme de journal qui ponctue les images, il raconte son expérience d'étranger accueilli par les habitants d'un camp devenu, avec le concours de nombreux bénévoles, un lieu de vie commune, malgré la précarité et la répression. Si Gilles Raynaldy porte témoignage, c'est avant tout de sa propre découverte de ce territoire, du temps qu'il y a passé et des rencontres qu'il y a faites, comme des difficultés et des incertitudes qui furent les siennes. L'écrivaine Marielle Macé éclaire l'approche du photographe, sa présence non intrusive, son attention aux lieux, aux détails, aux gestes. L'anthropologue Michel Agier rappelle, lui, les formes urbaines et les usages sociaux qui s'inventèrent dans la Jungle et dont les enseignements demeurent actuels.

The Transcendental Way to God According to Bernard Lonergan
The question of God is or can be the central question of all human existence. This dissertation is an attempt to present the philosophical way to God according to Bernard Lonergan - one of the most prominent exponents of modern Catholic philosophy and theology. According to the inner dialectic between that which is existential and that which is rational in human knowing of God, the new meta-proof of God's existence is presented in the perspective of existential conditions for the acceptance of such a proof. Particular attention is devoted to the solution of Kant's critical problem, which is a necessary condition for every critically grounded affirmation of God, for every affirmation up to our time. In this way a sketch of the philosophy of God is presented here which can well serve as a sketch of the textbook in this philosophy.

Jacques Cordier. Catalogue raisonné, Edition bilingue français-anglais
Jacques Cordier (1937-1975) is a painter whose renown extended beyond the national borders in his lifetime. He exhibited at Paris salons during the early years of his career, and later in galleries in Paris, Saint-Tropez and Italy. Loyal collectors also helped to extend his reputation before his tragic and premature death put an abrupt end to his creativity. A figurative painter trained in Paris in accordance with the precepts of the Return to Order, his work underwent a major artistic revolution when he moved to Saint-Tropez with Simone Armando-Barbier. Following in the footsteps of the Post-Impressionists and Fauvists, he immersed himself in the light of the South of France, which we find in his palette to produce works marked by the powerful personality of their creator. By bringing together the corpus of his paintings and drawings, this catalogue raisonné pays a well-deserved tribute to Jacques Cordier and provides an insight into his singular and original oeuvre.

Songs of Love. 12 Romances. 12 Lieder. Soprano (tenor) and piano.
Leokadiya Kashperova (1872-1940), hitherto consigned to a footnote in musical history as Stravinsky's piano teacher, is undergoing rediscovery. A double graduate of the St Petersburg Conservatoire, she emerged as a virtuoso pianist and composer in the romantic tradition. She was associated with some of the great musicians of her day, including Balakirev and Auer. She performed in both Germany and the UK in the 1900s, but her career petered out after 1920. Songs of Love was first published in 1904. No evidence survives of any public performance in Kashperova's lifetime although it is very likely that they were performed at her regular 'musical evenings at home on Tuesdays' mentioned in her Memoirs. The transparency of the piano writing strongly suggests that she would accompany herself singing. Kashperova, by all accounts, possessed a fine voice, and in the summer of 1906 she decided 'to learn from the artistry', as she put it, of the tenor Raimond von Zur-Mühlen who was widely celebrated for having developed (with Clara Schumann) the Lieder-Abend tradition. His summer-schools on the Baltic coast were frequented by aspiring singers from all over Europe, even Japan and India. Kashperova herself was responsible for the poetic lyrics of Songs of Love (in both Russian and German), which may well have emerged from her own bittersweet experience of life and love ; she was not to marry until 1916 at the age of forty-four. That Kashperova is the author of both the music and the lyrics of Songs of Love would suggest that they express very personal sentiments. Instrumentation : soprano (tenor) and piano

This volume asserts that there was tacit cooperation in the Nazi extermination of the Jewish population of Europe by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and American President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Second World War. Although the Allies publicly recognized the Nazi massacre of the Jews in the London Declaration of December 17, 1942, the policies they pursued allowed the genocide to continue. They did so, the author claims, in three ways : (1) refusal to publicly and personally speak about and against the Nazi extermination of the Jews ; (2) refusal to commit even one soldier, one plane, or one warship to any forcible opposition to the "Final Solution" throughout the Second World War ; and (3) obstruction of Jewish escape from Hitler's Europe. This book explores the motivation for the policies Churchill and Roosevelt pursued.

His knowledge, tenacity and eloquence still resound in the corridors of the Institute which bears his name in Saint Petersburg and his spirit continues to inspire the hundreds of researchers pursuing his work. He had anticipated the disappearance of plant diversity, and, within the space of a few decades, he studied and travelled throughout the world and found the means of saving it. For political and idealogical reasons, Nikolai Vavilov was condemned to death and left to starve in the dungeon of a Soviet prison. Gradually, on both sides of the iron curtain, his memory began to fade. One hundred years after Vavilov's first expedition, the photographer Mario Del Curto retraced his footsteps. For four years he has been meeting those who, despite overwhelming obstacles, perpetuate Vavilov's seed prospec- tion, selection, and conservation work in order to save the planet's staple food crops. This book is the unprecedented story of his journey to the heart of the Vavilov Institute and its twelve research stations. Hidden dividend distributions & hidden capital contributions, 2e édition. A technical guide
Luxembourg companies have a legal personality that is separate from that of their shareholder(s). Consequently, they may enter into agreements with their shareholders as they do with third parties. However, when the terms and conditions of those agreements do not adhere to the arm's length standard, tax adjustments may be required in accordance with the concepts of hidden dividend distribution and hidden capital contribution. Both concepts aim at a separation of the sphere of the company (which is itself subject to corporate income tax on its worldwide income) from that of its shareholders. As such, the concepts of hidden dividend distribution and hidden capital contribution are cornerstones of Luxembourg's transfer pricing rules. In addition, in the context of associated enterprises (in a group of companies), tax adjustments might be required under Article 56 of the Luxembourg Income Tax Law ("LITL"). Hence, a clear distinction must be made between agreements that adhere to the arm's length principle and agreements that, motivated by the shareholding relationship, shift advantages from the company to the shareholder or vice versa. Therefore, each contractual relationship between a company and its shareholder(s) must be considered. Luxembourg tax law does not provide for exhaustive definitions of hidden dividend distributions and hidden capital contributions. Both concepts have their origins in case law of the German Reich Tax Court (Reichsfinanzhof) and have been carefully extended and refined through the years by the German Federal Tax Court (Bundesfinanzhof). Since the publication of the first edition of this book back in 2011, the Luxembourg Courts had to decide in numerous cases involving both concepts. This book offers a one-of-a-kind, practical insight into the tax treatment of hidden dividend distributions, hidden capital contributions and triangular cases. Charts, case studies and checklists aid the reader in identifying and assessing the various cases in which hidden dividend distributions and hidden capital contributions may arise. A new chapter with practical case studies considers situations that may occur in the context of multinational groups, Luxembourg alternative funds and individual shareholders. In fact, after being burned by the church, one of her relatives kept her belongings inside a wooden box... and in the twentieth century one of her grandchildren donated the box to "The Magic Square Museum" in London. Genius bought the hat at a public auction as an art relic to decorate one of his rooms. Could this weird neighbor be the reason of Socrates' psychological trauma ? Or maybe he is the one who will cure him ? And what has the hat to do with all this ?

Hymns: The Making and Shaping of a Theology for the Whole People of God
The theological potential of hymns has never been fully exploited. This study shows how hymns communicate theology and enable those without a formal theological education to enter into theological debate. A nineteenth century collection of English hymns and some contemporary Bemba hymns from the Zambian Copperbelt are examined and compared, within their theological, cultural and social contexts, to discover their response to death, judgement, heaven and hell. From this comparison and a study of how hymns are used in these churches, a model emerges whereby hymns can be used to make and shape theology. This model is observed in a Zambian parish and is also shown in practice in an English parish. Finally, there is a reflection on the implications of this model for Missiology and Ecclesiology showing, among other things, the need for a radical reassessment of the relationship between professional theologians and the rest of the Church.

Stendhal secret. To the happy few
"Qui suis-je ? " s'interroge Stendhal à longueur de pages, que ce soit dans ses écrits de jeunesse, sa correspondance, les marges des livres de sa bibliothèque, aussi bien que dans ses essais, ses récits de voyages ou encore ses romans. Acquérir une connaissance impartiale de soi-même, parvenir à la vérité pour toucher à l'idéal de la vie humaine, telle est la quête qui sous-tend l'intégralité de l'oeuvre de l'écrivain grenoblois. Pour autant cette aspiration n'est pas immédiatement perceptible. La célèbre dédicace To the happy few ne serait alors qu'un avertissement destiné à inviter les quelques heureux, susceptibles d'accéder à ce second sens, à pénétrer chaque scène étrange ou à décrypter chaque allusion en apparence superfétatoire afin que l'intégralité de l'ouvrage se révèle à eux. L'appartenance de Stendhal à la franc-maçonnerie, son goût sans limite pour les pseudonymes et la cryptographie, sa manie du secret sont autant d'éléments permettant d'explorer le versant caché de son oeuvre.
