Si la vieillesse est aujourd'hui un âge qui dure, elle regroupe des expériences différentes. Ce qui amène à réfléchir aux vieillesses plutôt qu'à la vieillesse. Les travaux sur la ou les vieillesse(s) sont nombreux en médecine ou en sociologie, mais la réflexion sur le grand âge de l'artiste reste balbutiante. Qu'est-ce que l'âge fait à la création ? Celle-ci est-elle soumise à une continuité biographique comme le relatent les vies d'artiste ? Les créations ultimes sont-elles marquées par le déclin physique ? Ce volume tente de répondre à ces questions en croisant les disciplines et les champs, de l'histoire de l'art à la sociologie, de la neurologie à la psychanalyse, et en se donnant une ample périodisation, de la Renaissance à nos jours. L'ouvrage s'ouvre sur les modes critiques généraux d'appréhension des oeuvres tardives. Suit une analyse des conditions de la création et de ses difficultés chez un certain nombre d'artistes âgés. Le patrimoine culturel est plus que jamais menacé par la barbarie terroriste, mais il demeure une priorité secondaire parmi les préoccupations internationales. Le patrimoine nourrit la définition de l'âme et de la mémoire d'un peuple. Il est essentiel à la construction et à la compréhension de l'histoire et de l'identité nationale. La destruction du patrimoine culturel s'est récemment révélée comme un outil de propagande au service de la politique macabre de l'organisation terroriste Daesh. En sus de son aspect identitaire, cette destruction porte également un enjeu économique. L'instrumentalisation du système financier et des pillages archéologiques rend le patrimoine culturel d'autant plus vulnérable. Ce phénomène soulève plusieurs questions sur les circuits du marché de l'art en général et sur ses failles, qui permettent aux trafiquants de s'immiscer dans le commerce international et qui par conséquent alimentent les caisses de l'Etat islamique. L'arsenal juridique déployé se heurte à des difficultés inhérentes à la complexité, à l'opacité et la rapidité des flux du marché de l'art, et au caractère polymorphe de la menace terroriste, en particulier depuis l'avènement du web 2. 0. Une mobilisation internationale est aujourd'hui nécessaire pour lutter efficacement contre le trafic de biens culturels.

In the modern world, computer systems are playing a greater and greater part in everyday life. From office work, to entertainment, to providing information, the personal computer is quickly becoming a more integral part of the home. However, most PC users have no idea how most of the parts which make up their computer work internally. I am one of those who find that the framework provided by the school curriculum in the United Kingdom is of great assistance in planning lessons and learning plans but the curriculum does not plan out the work for us. We therefore need to invest a lot of time and effort into developing schemes of work that will suit the people we are going to teach. For me, it is a fantastic opportunity to employ our imagination and creativity to make lessons useful and interesting for children of different abilities. It is why I wrote this book. This book is a foundation course for Advanced Computer Studies and designed as a blueprint to teach users with a basic knowledge of computer science. Computer science is a subject that combines the use of technology which is ICT (Information Communication Technology) and the creation of technology. To use ICT (the subject about how to use technology to communicate information) more effectively, we need to know how technology works. Computing or computer science will create a generation of young people able to work at the forefront of technology change. It is the umbrella term for the subject that comprises 3 elements : computer science, information technology and digital literacy. It is helpful to think of these as the foundations, applications and implications of digital technology. The new focus on computer science will provides a well-defined and rigorous academic discipline and a unique lens through which pupils can understand the world. Children must therefore be taught computing if they are to be ready for tomorrow technology challenges. Our ingenuity to invent new means of communicating with each other, our very human compulsion to communicate have driven the technological innovations of the past two centuries however still a lot remain to be done with the arrival of quantum computing. A more rigorous approach to computer science teaching will help compete across the full spectrum of digital industries. This can only be achieved by equipping ourselves with the foundation skills, knowledge and understanding of computing do the necessity to introduce "computational thinking" at school via the new national curriculum (programmes of study and targets), the 2014 national curriculum that introduces computing which will replace ICT.

Child and Nation. A Study of Political Socialisation and Banal Nationalism in France and England
Where do feelings of national belonging come from ? Why is it that this belonging often seems both fundamental and banal, both intangible and omnipresent ? This book argues that the answers to these questions lie in childhood and the socialisation to the nation that we experience as children. It suggests that the banality of our own everyday nationalism is due to the fact that we have spent our lives learning to take it for granted. Just as our first understandings of reality are learned during childhood socialisation, so nationhood and national belonging are internalised as natural and necessary from the very beginning of our lives. The specific nature of this early socialisation is what confers upon banal nationalism its characteristic combination of omnipresence, inscrutability and self-evidence. To try and get around this self-evidence and explore this socialisation and its results, this study has adopted an innovative methodology involving semi-directive projective interviews with young children in France and England. This book presents an analysis of how this early socialisation to the nation plays out on young children's visions of national belonging and its justifications and implications. It also looks at what this transmission in childhood means for nationalism as an ideology and the power and pertinence of the nation today.

Conjugal Love and the Ends of Marriage
The importance of conjugal love in marriage, allegedly overlooked by pre-conciliar marriage doctrine, is strikingly emphasized by present-day Catholic Church documents. The stable incorporation of conjugal love into Catholic marriage doctrine finds its roots in the Second Vatican Council's Pastoral Constitution of the Church in the modern world, Gaudium et spes. During the elaboration of the chapter on marriage and the family in Gaudium et spes, it was observed that its third conciliar draft, textus recognitus, contained ideas which are similar to what Dietrich von Hildebrand and Herbert Doms had pronounced during the 1930s. Some theologians and canonists, in fact, have opined that these authors paved the way for the personalist treatment of marriage in this century by underlining the importance of conjugal love. Others have even asserted that the Gaudium et spes doctrine on marriage is the confirmation of Doms's thought. What accounts for the shift towards an emphasis on conjugal love in the theological presentation of marriage ? What did these two authors understand by it and how did they articulate the matrimonial ends ? How were their ideas received by the theologians and by the Church ? To what extent and in what ways are their ideas reflected in the conciliar document ? This book probes these questions which are fundamental to understanding the evolution of the Catholic doctrinal presentation of marriage.

She makes it clear, however, they have not done so simply through individual efforts or in a vacuum, but that men and women act in complex ways that involve cooperation and coalition building and that are shaped by culture, technology, tradition, and the availability of resources. Art et image au Moyen Age
L'histoire des images est indissociable de l'histoire de l'art. Elle s'y distingue certes par des spécificités, comme l'histoire de l'architecture. Il serait impossible de dater et de localiser la plupart des images médiévales sans passer par l'histoire des styles et donc par l'histoire de l'art. On ne peut comprendre le sens d'une image sans ce préalable. Il ne s'agit pas pour autant d'isoler l'histoire de l'art dans une autonomie factice. L'art est profondément imbriqué dans l'histoire sociale, religieuse et politique. Les spécialisations morcelant les compétences, ces imbrications sont souvent ignorées ou mal comprises, de sorte que la solution d'un problème se trouve non moins souvent au carrefour des disciplines. Les essais réunis dans ce volume s'y situent en tout cas clairement, débordant constamment vers l'histoire religieuse et celle des idées philosophiques, parfois vers l'histoire littéraire ou celle des institutions. La plupart d'entre eux sont relatifs aux images, parfois davantage à leur iconographie ou à leurs déterminations extérieures, comme le culte dont elles sont l'objet, parfois pour les situer stylistiquement ou pour mettre en évidence les procédés mis en oeuvre. Ils visent à rendre aux oeuvres leur consistance, en traitant tour à tour du statut de l'image médiévale, des thèmes iconographiques et enfin des problèmes spécifiques à une oeuvre ou à un ensemble d'oeuvres.
