Advising people to take this attitude or that are a waste of time. Those who see or/and are aware realise also that it is none of their business to goad and advise others. Our job at best can be to answer questions by the light of our knowledge but in no way can anyone be dogmatic about it. Let us all be first aware of - Do we know ? What do we know ? How do we know that we know ? To me it is the part where we first accept that there is room for change for the better in us. Then we observe ourselves. And finally we try to bring in the change in ourselves with our will with sincerity and objectivity.

When discussing illness and cures, let us not forget the "generator" deep within us. Depending on the level of our conscious development of our compassionate, grateful and discerning "SELF", the quality of energies bubbling from within us can make or mar our lives. The quality and intensity of our Desires, Well-wishing and Aspirations all get energies from our Inner Being and seek for "Realisation" into the outwardly material world. Prayers or thoughts and feelings create ripples that have "real" and penetrating effects on us and the people, things around them. The material, physical bodies are also affected. Our own lives are affected.

Dès la fin du XIXe siècle, le mouvement associatif de caste joue un rôle capital dans la société indienne. Toutefois, à ce jour, il n'a suscité qu'un nombre limité d'études anthropologiques. Pour combler cette lacune, une recherche sur les Maheshwari se révélait des plus opportunes. Cette importante caste marchande possède en effet des ressources financières et une capacité d'organisation exceptionnelles, qui confèrent à son mouvement une vitalité remarquable. Hétérogènes du point de vue économique et culturel, les Maheshwari ont élaboré un vaste réseau associatif au niveau local, régional et national pour renforcer leur unité, leur prestige et leur puissance numérique. Ils ont aussi fondé de nombreuses institutions qui fournissent aux membres de la caste un appui décisif dans les domaines professionnel et matrimonial. Combinant une étude approfondie de la réalité actuelle avec l'examen de faits historiques, l'auteur accorde une place centrale à l'analyse des stratégies matrimoniales. Ces dernières constituent un miroir et un instrument privilégiés des ambitions individuelles, familiales et collectives, et révèlent, à ce titre, les potentialités et les limites de l'action unificatrice d'un mouvement associatif de caste contemporain.
