Hybrid or fully online ? Synchronous or asynchronous ? Unimodal, bimodal, comodal or multimodal ? The all-out development of distance learning has led to the creation of appropriate digital systems, either by using what was already in place (such as video conferencing classrooms and web conferencing software supporting virtual classrooms) or introducing innovative environments (such as immersive telepresence classrooms). To use these versatile, multi-functional technologies, teachers need to take a step back to enable them to adapt their teaching methods and offer learners a suitable environment that overcomes physical and geographical distances. As for students, the need to "be there" and "be together" while learning remotely has to be taken into account to maintain their commitment and ensure they continue to contribute, despite the fact they are apart. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us the importance of the professional, collegial and friendship connections we have with those we usually meet face-to-face in a traditional classroom. Telepresence systems enable all these people to come together remotely (and synchronously) and make it possible to use active teaching methods, driven by the self-regulation of the learners. But what is telepresence ? Do teachers need any special training ? How do you attend lessons remotely ? How do participants learn in a telepresence setting ? What type of student assessment can be used in such an environment ? The result of international collaboration, this short guide looks at these questions from both a research and a practical perspective, inviting you to explore telepresence teaching and learning.

Olive oil is good for preparing food and increases the natural flavors of ingredients without modifying their taste. The olive tree has been the symbol of eternal peace for thousands of years. One of my ancestors, a senior civil servant in the Spanish government, used to recount that culture and agriculture are the two best ways of making the most of one's time and money. Today, the seventh generation of our family of olive farmers still is in firm belief of the same ethos. Olive oil holds the heart and soul of Mediterranean culture, and we have used all of our passion and knowledge to strive to reach perfection, while at the same time respecting nature, and mixing traditions with avant-garde techniques. In today's ever-globalized society, where cultures meet and mix, olive oil, an eons-long symbol of the Mediterranean, finds itself on tables from Scandinavia to Australia to Japan. Basically, it is nothing more than the delicate and subtle juice of the olive. At the house of Nunez de Prado - ever conscious of maintaining quality - we harvest all of our olives by hand including those having fallen to the ground. Only hours later is the crop carried to the mill where the fruit is broken up by granite rolls and pressed. The precious liquid extracted from the produce is decanted naturally to isolate that minute quantity of vegetal deliciousness that is the oil. Though appearing simple, this extraction process, especially for a high quality oil, is nearly as complex as the production of a quality château wine, the term used in Spanish to describe olive oils as well.

Les derniers jours de New Gate
En 1829, la police métropolitaine de Londres n’existait pas encore. Les affaires criminelles étaient confiées à des hommes à la moralité douteuse, qui ne se distinguaient pas toujours des malfaiteurs qu’ils recherchaient. Pyke est l’un de ces hommes, un « Bow Street Runner ». Il est également au service personnel d’un aristocrate, lord Edmonton. Ce dernier lui demande d’enquêter sur un détournement de fonds dont a été victime l’une des banques de son frère, et de ramener le coupable pieds et poings liés.Alors qu’il piste le suspect dans les ruelles du quartier de St Giles, Pyke pénètre dans le bâtiment où l’homme a disparu. Ce qu’il découvre dans l’une des pièces de la maison est tout simplement une vision d’horreur : un jeune couple et son bébé ont été sauvagement assassinés. Ce triple meurtre est mis sur le compte des conflits religieux qui déchirent le pays ; les victimes seraient des immigrés protestants venus d’Ulster. Le ministère de l’Intérieur s’en alarme et voici Pyke chargé d’éclaircir l’affaire. Ce qu’il va découvrir lui vaut de tomber dans un guet-apens : arrêté pour le meurtre de sa maîtresse et incarcéré à la prison de Newgate, il va lui falloir prouver son innocence.Premier volet d’une série située dans l’Angleterre pré-victorienne, Les derniers jours de Newgate n’est pas seulement un roman historique à l’atmosphère inquiétante. C’est un livre qui explore les débuts chaotiques de la police londonienne, composée d’individus souvent peu recommandables, à travers un personnage particulièrement original ; c’est un anti-héros, plus proche, par son opportunisme et son ambiguïté, du Ripley de Patricia Highsmith que de Philip Marlowe. Selon les mots de son créateur, il est « par essence un homme amoral qui, sous la pression des circonstances, se retrouve forcé d’agir de façon morale. »Conspirations, intrigues, conflits religieux, corruption et meurtres, c’est un monde troublé qu’évoque Andrew Pepper, prouvant avec ce roman fascinant et émaillé de nombreuses péripéties que le Londres des années 1820 n’était pas plus idyllique que le Chicago de la Prohibition.

Andrea Sacchi and Cardinal del Monte. The Rediscovered Frescoes in the Palazzo di Ripetta in Rome
This fascinating and beautifully illustrated book presents for the first time the rediscovered frescoes painted by Andrea Sacchi (1599-1661) for the loggia of Cardinal del Monte's Roman palace near via di Ripetta, Rome. Considered lost by generations of scholars, Andrea Sacchi's fresco cycle has survived in a private apartment in Rome. Largely unpublished and rarely mentioned in recent literature, the frescoes underwent a revelatory restoration in 2010-11. For the past three years, the author was granted exclusive access to study them thoroughly - resulting in this monograph. Accompanied by beautiful and full photographic documentation, this study aims to compare the painted images with the detailed description given by the biographer Giovan Pietro Bellori ; to shed light on the iconography and style, above all with respect to the sources used ; and to integrate this key commission within Sacchi's early career. The cycle's iconography is explored with careful verification of early sources that now allows us to resolve some particularly complex problems of interpretation - above all those relating to alchemy. Cardinal del Monte's Palazzo di Ripetta housed a fully equipped pharmacological laboratory. Research on this cycle of frescoes has also made it possible to discover new archival evidence regarding Sacchi's date and place of birth.

En désespoir de cause, ils se laissent tenter par "6" (six), une application louche qui leur promet de belles primes contre les missions à remplir... Et quand ils réalisent que ces missions consistent à combattre des monstres bien réels, il est évidemment trop tard pour se raviser ! D'autant plus que l'univers de "6" semble truffé de mystères...

Pop art in Belgium ! Un coup de foudre, Edition bilingue français-néerlandais
1963. Dans sa galerie parisienne, Ileana Sonnabend organise une exposition dédiée à l’artiste américain George Segal. Cette manifestation aura un grand retentissement dans notre pays. L’art belge de l’après-guerre va soudain sortir de sa relative léthargie, réveillé par le pop art américain qui fera souffler un vent nouveau sur un paysage artistique dominé jusque-là par la peinture flamande, l’expressionnisme et l’abstraction. Moins célèbres, ces quatre oeuvres expérimentales parues en feuilleton dans "Hara-Kiri" marquèrent néanmoins l'après-Mai 68 par leur humour noir, leurs couleurs acides et un furieux alliage de dessin et de photomontage, autant influencé par le dadaïsme que par le psychédélisme ambiant. Scripture and Midrash in Judaism
The rabbis of late antiquity produced a score of exegesis of the Hebrew Scriptures of Ancient Israel ("the Old Testament"), in which they took various approaches to the study and interpretation of what they called "the written Torah". These exegesis, called collectively "Midrash", form an important part of "the oral Torah", that is, the tradition of Sinai formulated and transmitted for memorization and ultimately written down by the ancient sages in the first six centuries A.D. These three volumes present large selections of the Midrash-documents of ancient Judaism, in the translation of Jacob Neusner, who has now translated into English nearly all of the Rabbinic literature of late antiquity. The selections are organized by type, so that readers see the various ways in which, in form and in intellectual program, the documents of Midrash-compilation were formulated and set forth. In this way, the vast body of biblical exegesis put forth by Judaism in its formative age is made available to the contemporary reader.

Philip Freneau- Tomo Cheeki, the Creek Indian in Philadelphia
Philip Freneau (1752-1832) was one of the first Americans to gain wide recognition as a writer. He is generally remembered as the "father of American poetry," but his prose writings have not always received the attention they deserve. As the editor of three important papers in the late 18th century (The National Gazette. The Jersey Chronicle, and The Time-Piece and Literary Companion) and as a contributor to many others, Freneau produced a large number of political and literary essays. The "Tomo Cheeki Essays", which were published in 1795 and in 1797, constitute an excellent example of Freneau's prose work. These pseudo-autobiographical accounts of an Indian visiting a city of the Whites are based upon the model of the European "oriental tale," while simultaneously incorporating American subject matter. The essays are representative of a decisive period of American literary history, since they reveal both Freneau's indebtedness to European culture and his role in the process of overcoming this indebtedness in the beginning creation of an independent national literature. The present edition provides the first complete and separate modern collection of the essays, which gives the reader an opportunity to get acquainted with an important example of early American prose writing that has been virtually inaccessible up to now.

Quentin Blake and the Demoiselles des Bords de Seine
Quentin Blake is one of the best-known illustrators of our time. He was Roald Dahl's regular illustrator, and their books have enjoyed world popularity with generations of children. Blake has collaborated with many other well-known authors and also created his own picture-books such as Clown and Zagazoo. Quentin Blake was born in England in 1932. For more than 20 years he taught in and then led the illustration department of the Royal College of Art. In 1999 he became the first Children's Laureate and in 2005 was appointed CBE for his services to children's literature. In France, where he spends a great deal of his time and where he has been published by Gallimard for the past 30 years, Quentin Blake has the same huge reputation as in Great Britain. His work has been exhibited there, and he has produced several books especially for French readers. In 2002 he was made a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. It was on account of this reputation that he was invited by the Petit Palais to select and present the exhibition Quentin Blake et les Demoiselles des Bords de Seine, and in the exhibition and this book he displays his enthusiasm for 19th century French art with a perceptiveness and liveliness which will speak to readers of all ages.

Child and Nation. A Study of Political Socialisation and Banal Nationalism in France and England
Where do feelings of national belonging come from ? Why is it that this belonging often seems both fundamental and banal, both intangible and omnipresent ? This book argues that the answers to these questions lie in childhood and the socialisation to the nation that we experience as children. It suggests that the banality of our own everyday nationalism is due to the fact that we have spent our lives learning to take it for granted. Just as our first understandings of reality are learned during childhood socialisation, so nationhood and national belonging are internalised as natural and necessary from the very beginning of our lives. The specific nature of this early socialisation is what confers upon banal nationalism its characteristic combination of omnipresence, inscrutability and self-evidence. To try and get around this self-evidence and explore this socialisation and its results, this study has adopted an innovative methodology involving semi-directive projective interviews with young children in France and England. This book presents an analysis of how this early socialisation to the nation plays out on young children's visions of national belonging and its justifications and implications. It also looks at what this transmission in childhood means for nationalism as an ideology and the power and pertinence of the nation today.
