1943...1993. A cinquante ans d'intervalle, deux trains quittent Marseille et font route vers le nord. 1993. Un train bleu, bouillonnant de cris, de rires et de chants, emmène un millier de supporters marseillais vers Munich où leur club sera sacré champion d'Europe. 1943. Un long train noir, pétrifié par la torpeur et l'angoisse, achemine plus de mille six cents habitants des vieux quartiers de Marseille au camp de Compiègne. Puis pour la plupart, ce sera ensuite Drancy et le camp d'extermination de Sobibor. 1943. Bert, Miche et Jo font partie du sinistre convoi et l'ombre du long train noir va les hanter toute leur vie. 1993. Bert, Miche et Jo sont à nouveau du voyage, mais le foot semble aujourd'hui assez loin de leurs préoccupations... Et ces trois P38 planqués dans le wagon font-ils vraiment partie de la panoplie du parfait supporter de l'OM ? Que cherchent-ils ? The guiding spirit of the philosophical engagement of Bertrand Russell was to outline a scientific philosophy with the intention of introducing progress and continuity in the subject. With this aim in view, he developed the analytic method which has inspired one of the most influential philosophical currents of this century. Russell's confidence was confirmed by the result of his analysis of perception and physics. This book examines three different theories that Russell used in an effort to provide a lasting solution to the problem of perception and its relation with the external world. Despite the merits of Russell's attempts, the author is convinced that Russell failed to achieve his aim, but that his failure points the way to a better understanding of the nature and purpose of philosophy.

The Public Concept of Land Ownership
In South Korea the increase of population and the economic growth together with a shortage of arable land has led to land speculation. The government has tried to encounter this speculation with legislative acts introducing ceilings on land ownership, imposing taxes on excessive land holding and controlling real-estate transactions. These public policy measures are understood in Korea as the "Public Concept of Land Ownership". The Korean reports collected in this book explain in detail this concept and measure it by its economic efficiency as well as by its constitutionality. A part of the German reports describes how the same legal questions are dealt with under German law. Other reports examine the history of land ownership and the reprivatisation of land in East Germany after 1990.

Coédition Dilecta / MAMAC Née à Hô Chi Minh-Ville (Vietnam) en 1979, Thu Van Tran vit et travaille à Paris. Au début des années 2000, alors qu'elle étudie aux Beaux-Arts de Paris, elle découvre ce qu'elle appelle la "? part maudite ? " de la sculpture classique ? : l'opulence des bronzes monumentaux, la destruction systématique des moules et des matrices dont les formes ne persisteront, fantomatiques, qu'en négatif. Cette logique imprègne dès lors toute la pratique de l'artiste. Tout autant que ses moulages d'hévéa réalisés en caoutchouc, ses photogrammes, ses films et ses récits révèlent toujours la mémoire d'une empreinte ou d'une emprise évanouie. Celle notamment des occupations successives qui marquèrent le Vietnam, qu'elle quitte à l'âge de deux ans. Artiste à la pratique polymorphe, Thu Van Tran aborde ainsi les matériaux autant que les mots comme des espaces ouverts ? : de ses explorations et associations sémantiques naissent des formes plastiques qui lui permettent d'entremêler histoires personnelle et collective.

Chaos, Control, and Consistency:- The Narrative Vision of Wolfgang Koeppen
Wolfgang Koeppen's critical and popular reputations stem largely from his literary success in the 1950s, a success which has overshadowed the author's activities in the earlier years of his career. It is in the interest of redressing this imbalance that the present study has been undertaken. It traces a consistent line of development from Koeppen's journalistic activities in the Berlin of the 1930s, through his earliest creative writing, and on, in this light, to the post-war publications for which he is most famous. It is thus possible to place the whole of Koeppen's career within the social and literary context of sixty years of German history.

Although the prominence of Matthew's anti-Jewish polemic has been widely recognized in recent years, curiously little attention has thus far been given to the contribution made by chapters 11 and 12 to this theme. Often dismissed as a loose compendium of controversy-stories, this narrative section actually displays a solid, thematic unity dealing with the tragic fact of Jesus'rejection by the covenant people, Israel. Matthew's usually thoughtful style is evident in these chapters as he proceeds in a quite independent manner to clarify the unexpectedly humble nature of the messianic mission, the consequences of its rejection and the identity of the true people of God.

Cela commence dans un pays d'Asie indéfini, vaste morgue gelée dont Wu Tse veut s'échapper. Il y parvient, travaille dans un chantier pour réunir l'argent nécessaire à son passage vers un pays riche. Piégé par un habile entrepreneur, il fait la rencontre d'une jeune femme, la belle Kwan, avec qui il monte un coup pour payer un départ accéléré. Mais le cargo prend l'eau. Wu Tse échoue sur une côte africaine, trouve sur sa route un médecin fou, une équipe scientifique, une tribu anthropophage. Au terme de ses tribulations, il aboutit dans un aéroport occidental. Arrêté à la douane, placé en centre de rétention, il réussit à s'évader. Dans les docks d'un port, il recherche Kwan, petite lueur à l'horizon. Une fresque époustouflante sur les nouvelles réalités du monde actuel ou à venir, avec ses tyrannies ultra-sécuritaires, ses flux migratoires, ses clandestins, son exploitation des corps, ses trafics, ses corruptions, ses épidémies, ses virus. Le roman n'est jamais aussi réaliste que lorsqu'il se permet d'être visionnaire.

Frank et le Congrès des bêtes, prix spécial du jury d'Angoulême 2012, s'achevait sur Frank enlaçant tendrement Fran, son âme soeur fraîchement rencontrée, sous un ciel d'étoiles hallucinées. Fran, la deuxième partie, s'ouvre sur leur couple désormais en ménage. Mais le parfait amour ne peut se filer dans le monde faussement paisible du chat psychédélique. Tout s'enraye à la découverte d'un étrange casque-projecteur qui projette le passé de celui qui le porte. Fran, refusant de le porter, s'enfuit. Voilà Frank éploré qui part à sa recherche. Intrus fantasques et inquiétants, saillies du bizarre, surgissent alors et brèches ouvrant sur des dimensions parallèles s'enchâssent dans le chassé-croisé des amoureux brouillés. A n'en pas douter, les meilleurs ressorts du cartoon feront comme toujours régner l'éphémère dans le monde de Frank, personnage au destin immuable.

This subspecies has distinct features that are the result of thousands of years of evolution, making it perfectly suited to the deserts and mountains of Arabia. An essay by wildlife conservationist Andrew Spalton charts the animal's epic journey from Africa to Arabia over the course of half a million years, highlighting its history and its current, critically endangered status. There has been a heated international debate over Salman Rushdie's book The Satanic Verses ever since its publication in 1988. The present work examines the ways in which this affair has developed. From the beginning, one can find strong rhetorical emphases ; these are shown to argue for maintenance of meaningful boundaries. The thesis of Kuortti's book is that on each side of the debate, people use similar language to argue for the sanctity of their convictions. This is evident especially in the opposition between the arguments for the sacrality of Islam and literature. In the international exchange, how could we then find more respectful ways of acknowledging that we are not that dissimilar from each other ?

His knowledge, tenacity and eloquence still resound in the corridors of the Institute which bears his name in Saint Petersburg and his spirit continues to inspire the hundreds of researchers pursuing his work. He had anticipated the disappearance of plant diversity, and, within the space of a few decades, he studied and travelled throughout the world and found the means of saving it. For political and idealogical reasons, Nikolai Vavilov was condemned to death and left to starve in the dungeon of a Soviet prison. Gradually, on both sides of the iron curtain, his memory began to fade. One hundred years after Vavilov's first expedition, the photographer Mario Del Curto retraced his footsteps. For four years he has been meeting those who, despite overwhelming obstacles, perpetuate Vavilov's seed prospec- tion, selection, and conservation work in order to save the planet's staple food crops. This book is the unprecedented story of his journey to the heart of the Vavilov Institute and its twelve research stations. La Mer Orientale et la souveraineté du Vietnam
La Mer Orientale est une mer marginale qui fait partie de l'océan Pacifique. Elle se trouve en Asie du Sud-Est. Elle borde le sud de la Chine, Taïwan, puis longe le Vietnam et va jusqu'aux Philippines, en Indonésie et en Malaisie. C'est un axe stratégique majeur puisque 30% du commerce mondial passe ici. Elle est surnommée "mer de l'Est" par les Vietnamiens, On y trouve de très nombreuses îles, parfois de simples récifs, des cailloux de quelques mètres. Ces confettis d'îles attisent les tensions, puisque le pays qui plante son drapeau sur ces terres dispose des eaux territoriales. La Chine, ces dernières années, s'est littéralement installée, par la force, sur certaines de ces petites îles qui appartiennent au Vietnam. Le Vietnam revendique toujours son droit sur les deux archipels : Paracels et Spartleys (Hoàng Sa, Tru ? ng Sa en vietnamien). Plusieurs conférences internationales abordent la question de la souveraineté de ces îles. Cet enchevêtrement de revendications territoriales pousse du coup à militariser la région. La tension y est de plus en plus forte. La conférence organisée le 10 juin 2023, avec la participation des historiens, des spécialistes en Europe, confirme la souveraineté du Vietnam sur ces deux archipels.

Les frères francs-maçons vietnamiens oubliés en Indochine
Autrefois, le Vietnam était une colonie française. Etiré tout au long d'une côte sinueuse, le pays a été divisé en trois régions qui ont été fusionnées dans ce qui a formé l'Indochine qui comprenait outre le Vietnam, le Laos et le Cambodge. La colonisation française s'est étendue sur plus d'un siècle. De nombreux intellectuels vietnamiens ont nourri le désir d'accéder à l'indépendance de leur nation. Confrontés à une puissance coloniale de premier plan qui possédait de vastes territoires à travers le monde, ils se sont alliés malgré leurs divergences, afin de libérer le pays du joug du colonisateur. Adhérer aux valeurs de la franc-maçonnerie leur a donné les moyens et les outils de préserver leur culture et leur langue afin de lutter pour la liberté, l'égalité et la fraternité de manière pacifique. Certains francs-maçons ont eu une influence spectaculaire dans cette guerre du silence. Leurs succès et leurs échecs sont devenus légendaires.

Morality and Politics in Nigeria
Before the Nigerian civil war, and even after the war till 1982, Nigeria was regarded as a wealthy nation in comparison with other African countries. However, for the past 30 years, struggle for power has resulted in political instability, moral degeneracy and under-development. The economy of the country has collapsed and millions of Nigerians are now enveloped in poverty, hunger, disease, ignorance, unemployment etc. The root cause of this unhealthy situation for the country is corruption and moral degradation. The only way out of the Nigerian ugly situation seems to be the integration of morality in Nigerian politics. This research work therefore aims at suggesting avenues of restoring man's original dignity within a corrupt and unjust social and political setting in Nigeria.
