The contemporary chronobiology covers increasingly wider areas of not only biological, but also medical sciences. This volume contains selected Proceedings of the 5th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Chronobiology, held in Cracow in 1989. It was the first meeting of European chronobiologists in a communist ruled country.
